Music

WALT... I can describe the characteristics of music from songs of a different time and place

Over the past 7 weeks I have been learning to describe the characteristics of music from songs of a different time and place

I can describe these characteristics in a piece of music…

Melody - A part of a song that gets stuck in your head.

Harmony - A major song which is a happy song or a minor song which is a sad song.
Rhythm - A strong or regular repeated pattern.
Timbre - What makes the song unique.
Form - How the song is put together.

WALT apply the techniques of improvisation to a range of different scenarios (Drama)

Drama

WALT apply the techniques of improvisation to a range of different scenarios.

Improvisation TECHNIQUES that I have used successfully are: Always say yes, and carry on with the scene.

Improvisation TECHNIQUES that I would like to have more practice at: Is being spontaneous, and coming up with things on the spot.

The thing that I enjoyed most about this unit of learning was playing the games
because, they were a fun way to get involved.

The thing that I found most challenging during this unit of learning
was getting involved because, I didn't like getting up in front of people and doing drama.

My favourite improvisation game was Doorbell because, it was a fun way to get involved.

My next step/ something I need to work on further  in improvisation is, getting more in depth because, I don't go all out.

My Student Led Conference

My Student Led Conference

The things I enjoyed most about my SLC were: Sharing learning and achievements with my parents.

What went well and why? Something that went well was that my patents were asking a lot of questions, and it was good because, I used up all of the time.

What were the challenges you faced when preparing and presenting your SLC? When my parents asked a question I didn't know the answer to.

What changes would you make for next time and why? I would share more, because I had heaps of time left.

Visual Art

Visual Art

WALT: Apply knowledge about shapes, and patterns derived from nature into an original artwork.

For visual art the SOLO level I achieved was: Relational because, I think I could have done better when I was blending my colours.

My next step in visual art is: To blend the colours more, and have a variety of different colours.
