Technology On The Bus ( Distinction Post )

On Tuesday I had Technology.

First of all I transitioned quietly and respectfully to the bus. While we were waiting to ascend the bus I whispered to the person beside me and stayed to the side so the people on the other bus could get on.

When I was on the bus I showed the CARE values by:

- Community by staying seated and talking to the person beside me so the bus wouldn't get loud
- Active thinking by reminding people to stay seated and to talk quietly
- Respect by talking to the person beside me
- Excellence by being resilient when people wouldn't listen about staying seated and to talk quietly

When I got off the bus I transitioned quietly and respectfully to where I was supposed to be.

Formal Dance ( Having a Can-Do Attitude ) ( Distinction Post )

Formal Dance ( Having a Can-Do Attitude )

Today at Formal Dance, I demonstrated a Can-Do attitude by, smiling at my partner, my body language and my enthusiasm towards dance.

At first I would barely touch my partner, but now I will do it properly and have lots of enthusiasm during a dance.

My favourite dance is the Waltz and the Rock 'n' Role Reel.

PALS Week 10 ( Distinction Post )

PALS Week 10

Today at  PALS, we could not decide on what game to play. We decided to play Tricky Tag.

The good thing about this game was that we didn't need any gear. The first thing we did was get the jackets, pozies and some cones just in case.

The next thing we did was setup for the game. At first we had no one, then as we got a few people, more and more kept on coming.

The game was going really well until there was a disagreement. It was a kid who thought that they got the other person first, and the other person thought the same.

I decided to use my Peer Mediation skills and sort this out. I pulled them aside so everyone else could keep playing.

The first thing I did was asked them for their sides of the story. Then I came up with a solution. I told them to do Paper, Scissors and Rock if it ever happened again.

Gala ( Distinction Post )

Today at the Gala setup, I was showing my CARE values by ..............

Community- I was showing Community by, when we were moving stuff for the White Elephant, I was being self aware of the stuff around me.

Active Thinking- I was showing Active Thinking by, thinking about how I can help out Miss 'O and Mr Ladbrook, because they already had a lot to do.

Respect- I was respecting what I was carrying around. So I wasn't running with heavy/ breakable stuff, and thinking about were I was in the school.

Excellence- I was showing Excellence by,  putting my hand up to do face painting for half an hour at the Gala.

Peer Mediation Week 10 ( Distinction Post )

PALS Week 10

Today at PALS, we were walking around. We started at the juniors area. The first thing we noticed was a problem.

The problem was that a heap of kids were on a pile of bark, at the back corner of the field.  The pile of bark was really big.  It also had cones around it, which made the situation  even worse.

The next thing we did was try to tell them to get of the pile of bark, but they didn't listen. Then one kid was being really rude to us, and yelling over top of us when we were trying to stop them all.

Then a Duty Teacher came over to see what the fuss was. But when the teacher was coming closer, one little kid kicked a whole heap of bark in my face, and some got in my eye. Then when the teacher came, they got in big trouble.

Peer Mediation Week 9 ( Distinction Post )

Being a role model for the students in the Kakano Team -Today at lunchtime at Peer Mediation we had no problems so I was really board. Then randomly some little kids told me to look for Rebecca. K. I tried to explain to them that I was on Peer Mediation, but of course they didn't understand. It starting of with them chucking my hat and making me go fetch it, then they literally started smacking me. This was pretty painful, but it was fun for them. I was showing leadership by, spending some time with little kids and being a role model. Overall it was quite fun for Peer Mediation.

Librarian ( Distinction Post )

Every second Wednesday, Xanthe, Sharna, and I are on desk in the library. Since this week wasn't our turn, I decided to help other groups and fill in for people who forgot to come. I think being a librarian is a big responsibility because you need to help people find nice books and always be kind. Being a librarian even means keeping the library clean, by politely telling the kids who made a mess to tidy up after themselves , putting books away and getting books out for other kids.

PALS Week 8 ( Distinction Post )

On Tuesday Samara, Zainab and I did pals for pals we played capture the flag, it was only for kauri though.

Capture the flag was very challenging and intense for the bib team since they had one flag left

and didn't want to lose but unfortunately the non-bib team won.

I personally think for a kauri pals game capture the flag would be an amazing game to play because all kids get into it. I think any game would be just as good as capture the flag if everyone is playing fair.

Being a Good Role Model To Younger Students ( Distinction Post )

Being a Good Role Model To Younger Students

If I can be a Good Role Model to younger students, then so can you.

I have been a Good Role Model to younger students by......... Putting my rubbish in the bin after I have finished eating. This prevents them to throw rubbish around the school and keep the environment clean.

I wear my at in Term 1 and 4. This makes them copy and so they don't get burnt. ( especially with this hot weather )

And finally I get involved in group activities so I have something to do at Morning Tea and Lunch.

Peer Mediation Week 8 ( Distinction Post )

On Wednesday I had Peer Mediation

First we went and got the Ipad, necklaces and jackets. Once we had put them on we headed out to the field

When we got to the field we started walking around the Long Distance track because it was marked out with cones and it covered the whole field.

While we were walking we got approached by a little boy who said his friend had hurt his leg. We went over to see how bad it was and saw it was just a little cut. We told him he could go and see the teacher in the orange vest and they could give him a plaster but he said it was okay.

After we sorted that out we kept walking around the field. When we were at the big acorn tree in the corner of the field we had some little kids come up to us saying they saw some older kids diving into the pool of water on the Long Jump pit mat. We went over and found out there was. One of them ran away and the other one admitted he was which was obvious because he was soaking wet. We thought they were in year 4 or 5. We told him to go to the office and get a new uniform for today but he said it was drying.

We kept on walking and we had only taken a couple of steps before another group of little kids approached us. Their problem was that someone had kicked their ball away. We sorted it out then discovered that some people were cheating. We helped them come up with a solution which was you all rotate positions.

Once we finished that it was time to go. We hung up the necklaces and jackets and put the Ipad away.

Librarian ( Distinction Post )

On Monday I had Librarian with Sharna and Xanthe

First of all we stacked the shelves. You do this by looking on the spine of the book and seeing what letters are on it. You also have to check what colour the label is so you know what area to put it in. Then you stack it nicely.

Next we sat at the desk and issued, returned and renewed books.

To return books you scan the barcode and put it on the left side of the desk where the book markers are.

To issue a book you have to type in the borrowers name or scan the barcode next to their name in the book. Then you scan the barcode in the book and stamp it on the stamping page.

To renew a book you go onto the borrowers account and click the name of the book they're renewing and press renew when the button comes up.

We were doing this for the rest of the lunch.

Radio Station ( Distinction Post )

Radio Station

Today at Radio Station, we did what we normally did. If you didn't know already our school ( Oaklands ) has our own Radio Station. If you wanted to do it, you had to sign up. Since there were so many applicants, they had to choose SOME people. I was lucky enough to be one of them. I do Radio Station with Samantha Laing. We have different jobs. We both read the script and choose the songs. Sam controls the laptop and puts the songs on. While I have the hardest job. I have to work the controls board. So yeah I really do have the hardest job. Anyway, we have lots of fun at Radio Station. We are on at lunchtimes, every second Tuesday. The times are 8 : 30 - 9 : 00 and 1 : 00 to 1 : 30 on 107.2 FM. So now you can listen to us.

Being a Good Role Model At Technology ( Distinction Post )

Being a Good Role Model At Technology

I make sure that I am being a good role model at Lincoln Technology because, I need to make sure that I make Oaklands look good. Some things that I am doing that are respectful are helping my Technology teacher by listening to them and doing what they ask me to.

PALS Week 6 ( Distinction Post )

Today at PALS, we had millions of kids turn up. This time we did skipping. The first thing we did was put on the vests and get the pozies. My job was to swing the large rope and hand out pozies. For our PALS week, we have jobs we do so we are more organised and so it is not all mumbo jumbo. When I am giving out pozies, I make sure they are for the right reasons. A good reason I could give out pozies are for anyone who is using our school CARE values, or the learner dispositions. Most of the time it is for being nice or sharing. When we have been doing skipping as an activity lately, I mostly give out pozies for helping others learning to skip, or sharing the ropes. One more thing I look for is treating the ropes with respect. Most of the time they are but sometimes they swing them around and accidently hitting someone. Skipping is a fun activity to do for PALS, so if you need some ideas for PALS, you should try skipping.

Peer Mediation Week 7 ( Distinction Post )

Peer Mediation Week 7

Today at Peer Mediation we had one problem. The problem was two kids disagreeing on something, then getting into a fight.  When we got over there, they weren't listening. They just kept fighting and fighting and fighting. They just would not stop until, I stepped in the middle of them. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner because it worked. I asked them what had happened, but they kept on fighting about who was saying what. I guess they both wanted to be the good guys. After they had told me what had happened I tried to resolve it. It turns out that they had disagreed on a little thing, ( which was what game they were going to play ). I actually didn't know what to say. So I came up with some games they could play. But the bell rang. One of the kids started crying and shouted at the other one for wasting their Morning Tea. Then they got into a fight again. I went and got their teacher and told them everything. I think the teacher sorted it out but I am sure she did.

PALS Week 4 ( Distinction Post )

PALS Week 4

Today at PALS, we played a variety of games. Some types of games we played were, Long games, Eg: Indian Tag and Octopus. Another type of game we played was, short games. What I mean by short games is, ' What's the time Mr. Wolf ' and other short games. Some more games we played were, Duck Duck Goose, Touch and Sprints. We had one problem though. We only had four children who wanted to play. So the little kids went and got some of there friends, while we went and asked some kids that weren't doing anything or looked bored. In the end, we had lots of people who wanted to play. But there was another problem. Since there was so many kids, they had so many ideas for games. So we literally did all the games that they had of the top of their heads. We went over time but that doesn't matter. At least they had something to do at lunchtime.

Pegasus Triathlon (Distinction evedince)

Today I have shown leadership by.......................

Participating in the Pegasus Triathlon. The reason I have shown leadership here is because I stepped up and said that I would do it and I have represented our school. We had to swim in the lake, bike around Pegasus, and then run around the lake. I think it was more challenging than last year because I had to do more and the course was different.

Being A Good Role Model To Younger Students (Distinction post)

Being A Good Role Model To Younger Students

Today I was a good Role Model to younger students by............... eating my lunch outside my classroom when the lunch bell has already rung and I have not finished it. Another reason that I have been a good role model is by wearing my school uniform correctly. So for example I wear my correct clothes, T- shirt, jumper and culottes. I am also wearing pure green, red, grey, black or white socks. We have to make sure that we are wearing it correctly. I am also wearing my sunhat at lunchtimes and morning tea times. If I forget my hat, I will go and sit under the shades that are provided. I make sure that I drink lots of water on hot days so I don't get dehydrated.

Peer Mediation Week 6 (Distiction Post)

Today at Peer Mediation, I had to do it by myself. But because I did Peer Mediation for Sam. W when she had to do it all by herself, she returned the favour and helped me. The first problem we had was, A little girl and a little boy having a stick fight. They had gone out of bounds to get some sticks for them and there friends. I told them to put them down. They didn't listen. Then I told them all the bad things that could happen if they kept on playing with them. The girl dropped the stick immediately and ran of. The boy on the other hand just kept on swinging it around his head and almost hit someone. I thought the best thing to do was get a teacher. I told Sam. W to go and get a teacher, so I could keep an I on the boy. When the teacher came, the boy dropped the stick and ran away. Now I think he knows not to do it again.

Tuesday 17 November 2015

Devices ( Distinction evidence )

The other job I have is, doing the devices. We do the devices every morning before school, and every afternoon after lunch, before the bell rings to go home. My job is to bring out and put away the Ipods, every morning and afternoon. Sometimes I have to do the Ipads or laptops as well because, someone might not be there or even forget. I mostly have to do the Ipads in the morning because Jessica isen't usally there that early. I do the devices with Samantha.W and Jessica. This job is the easiest job that I have ( except being nice and caring to people ). We have three types of devices and three of us, so we don't miss out and we all have a job.

Peer Mediation Week 5 ( Distinction evedence )

Today on Peer Mediation, we had quite a few problems actually. The first problem we had was about two kids who were fighting over what game to play. One boy wanted to play touch, and the other boy wanted to play tag. I am lucky that I am a PAL because, I knew what to do next. I sent them over to the PALS and explained what had happened. The PALS then organised a game of tag then a game of touch. That as that problem sorted. The next problem we had was these two kids that had sticks and were pretending that they were swords. The boy came up to me and said that he got poked in the eye. The other boy said sorry to the boy and then he went to the sick bay. I told the boy not to play with sticks because it is dangerous.

Maths Prove It

Maths prove it

WALT...... Generalise properties of multiplication and division with whole numbers.
Here is a problem.

7 + 4 = 4 + 7

Associative  Commutative  Identity

I think the answer is commutative.

The correct answer is commutative.

Fill in the missing numbers that makes this number sentence true.

( + 509) + 555 = 345 + ( + 555)

This is associative. CORRECT!!!!!

Lets do one more.

Which equation shows the identity property of addition?

5+1 (1+6) = (5+1) +6 | 4+3 = 3+4 | 9+0=9

I think that the answer is 9+0=9.

The correct answer is 9+0=9.

Choir

Today at choir, we practised for the music festival again. The first songs we sung were, Murasame, Here comes the sun/ This little light of mine. My favourite songs are Ring of fire and American child. I like these songs because  they have a cool tune and beat to them. I like choir because we get to perform at the Music Festival. If you don't know what the music festival is, it is a big event were you get to sing. I performed at the Music Festival a few years ago, it was really fun, and I can't wait to do it again.

Thursday 15 October 2015

librarian

Today at librarian, it was really hot and stuffy. probably because I had just done long distance. The first thing we did was put some books away in the right places. Then I went and sat at the desk. The first person who wanted a book issued. Xanthe was scanning and I was stamping. Afterwards we had some more books to put away. After we had done that, we issued some books for ourselves to read. A little girl came up to us and asked us if we would like to read her a book.  The book was called I Spy. We read her half of the book. The bell rang. We packed up the library and went back to class.

Being a Good Role Model To Kakano Students

I am being a good role model to younger students by, eating outside the classroom when the bell rings instead of eating on the field. This prevents litter around the school. Another thing that I am doing is wearing my hat correctly at morning tea and lunchtimes. By wearing my hat, the Kakano students will copy me and wear their hat. Another thing that relates to that is wearing my school uniform correctly. For example, instead of wearing a jumper from home, I wear a school one.

Bus Trip To Technology

Today on the bus to technology, I was being a good role model for our school by sitting down on the bus and only talking to the people beside me. I was also sitting with my bus buddies in the correct seat. I think as one big group we can work on our transitions a lot better.

Something I might need to work on is the noise level that I use on the bus.

Music Lessons

Today at music lessons ( guitar ), I had lots of fun. The first thing we did was play some songs we already knew. Some of the songs we played were, Ten Guitars, Let her go, Count on me by Bruno Mars and the last song was Hallelujah. The next thing we did was play 'I'm a believer'. We were practising it to get ready to perform it the next day. When Mr McCallum was playing a song, he broke one of his guitar strings. The noise it made was ear piercing!!!! We all stopped and gasped. He put his guitar down and used a different one. We carried on and kept playing.

Peer Mediation Week 4

Today at Peer Mediation, we had no problems. That means that everyone was getting along, unless they weren't telling anyone. I saw lots of people playing soccer, touch, netball and a whole bunch of others. I was the only person who turned up to Peer Mediation. At least I know to turn up to my duties.

Monday 12 October 2015

Peer mediation week 3

Today at peer mediation, we had a few problems. Lots of little kids were taking the seniors sports gear and using it for them. We had to tell lots of little people to put the gear back in the bins and play with there own gear. Some little kids do listen, but a few kids didn't. This was our solution. We organised a game for them to play. The game was tricky tag. It was easy because you don't need any gear for it. Then some year 3 kids asked if they could have another rugby ball to go in their sport bin. After morning tea we quickly went and asked Mr. Forman if we could put another rugby ball in their sport bin. He said yes. At lunchtime I saw them playing happily.

2015 Goals ( How I am going )

These are my goals for 2015 so far.

1. To be in group activities
I think that I am going really well, because I am involved in lots of things. Such as, Choir, Kapa Haka, PALS, Radio Station, Librarian and Peer Mediation.

2. To be a good role model
I think that I am being a good role model, because I am line up and transition sensibly to and from class and assembly's. I also were my hat when I am supposed to.

3. Improve in my school work
I think that my school work has improved a lot. The area that I think I have improved in is reading.

My next step is to turn up to my duties on time.

Koru Games

Over the last 3 days, I competed in soccer for Koru Games.
I really enjoyed playing against Heron School because they were challenging.
Thinking back to the beginning of the year, I think I have improved a lot because my passing is a lot better  and I'm not a ball hog anymore.

Something I will always remember is scoring a goal in penalty shoot outs, it was a top right.

Music Lessons Week 2 (excellence badge)

Music Lessons Week 2
Today at music lessons, I went with Jackie and Hannah. Firstly we tuned our guitars. Then we talked to Mr. McCalum. The first song we practiced was Nga Iwi E. Then we did 12 bar blues. Twelve bar blues sounds really good with the piano too. The reason I started doing guitar was because I thought it would be a challenge and nice to try something new. I am finding two cords hard. They are called C and Bm. In case if you haven't read any of my other posts, Bm stands for B minor. I enjoy guitar lot's.

leadership goals

MY LEADERSHIP GOALS

( how I am going )

To be in group activities - I think I am going really well because I am involved in lots of things such as choir,PALS and lots of other things.

To be a good role model - I think I am going really well because I am being a good role model to the younger students in assembly.

To improve in my school work - I think I am going really well and I am improving in my maths work.

Guitar Lessons (excellence badge)

Guitar Lessons Week 1

Today at guitar lessons, we went over all the songs we had learnt in term 1 and 2. The first song we played was Ni ewe e then 12 bar blues, ten guitars, firefly's and a whole heap of other songs. Then we started learning hallelujah. On guitar the cords needed for hallelujah are- D, G, C, Bm and A7. The hardest cords would have to be C and Bm. Bm means B minor. The first cord I learnt was E minor. Then D, E7, G and so on. My favorite song would have to be 12 bar blues because, it has a good tune to it when Mr. McCullum does it on the piano at the same time we are doing it on the guitar. I was a little rusty and had forgotten most of the cords, because it has just been the holidays. So it took me a while to do the songs. The only thing I don't like about guitar is learning new songs, because they are hard and you have to learn new cords.

Writing Prove It Structure And Language

My goal in writing was structure and language. Here is a part of my writing to show you.

The Ice-Cream Disaster

"It was a normal day in a normal house.Benson and Borris the bears were laying in their normal spaces on the bed.It was a hot day today in fact the Daver family had gone to the beach for the day. They took a chilly bin filled with icey cold drinks and a box of frozen ice-blocks,melting away as the minutes passed by.The ice-block container WAS full, but one of the greedy children took one out.As the child took one out, I fell out.Yes I am a talking ice-cream.

Peer Mediation Week 2 (excellence badge)

Peer Mediation Week 2

Today at Peer Mediation, we had no problems. Lots of things that I saw around the playgrounds was, people playing good games. For example: Colour Tag, Busted and Tag games. On the field I saw lots of good games as well. For example: Touch, Soccer, Cricket and a whole heap of other games. There was lots of things going on, on the courts. Like Netball games, Basketball games and made up games as well. Some little kids were even having a show on the music room deck. It was cool to see little kids trying to shoot hoops and trying out new things. If you don't know what Peer Mediation is, it is when little or big kids come and tell you their problems and you sort them out. It is good that there was no problems today.

PALS week 2 (excellence badge)

PALS week 2

Today at PALS, we decided to play doge ball. Doge ball is a very popular game, so that is why we chose it. But when we set it all up, no one came to play. So we started playing ourselves. Gradually people started to come and play with us. Firstly we played a game of medic doge ball. Then we played three rounds of knockout. I think that they enjoyed knockout the most. It was good because everybody turns up every single time. If you don't know what PALS is, it stands for Physical Activity Leader. It is when you organise games for kids to play every fortnight. We were meant to do it for half of lunch but we ended up doing the whole of lunch because we got side tracked.

Peer Mediation week 1 (excellence badge)

Peer Mediation Week 1

On Monday I had Peer Mediation. We had a big problem. There was these kids that were fighting over who got the ball first. Some strategies I used were, say that one person could have it at morning tea, and the other person could have it at lunch. That didn't work because one of the kids said "what if the person doesn't get the ball at lunch." I thought that is point was right. So I tried to think of another strategy to use. The second strategy I used was that they shared the ball and play together. Thankfully that worked. But there was a minus. The bell rang.

Writing prove it term 1

My goal in writing for term one was to use connectives.
Here is an example of a peice of my writing

Since I have been in the year seven and eight area, I have been a lot more organised. This is because we get to manage ourselfs. In the morning we put up our faces to let the teacher no that we are here.We also have a bright green box that we could design with all our school stuff in it, we take it everywere we go.We take our boxes to teacher breakouts as well.

Tuesday 23 June 2015

Choir

On Friday at choir we sang lots of songs. We were mostly singing songs from the music festival booklet. One of the songs we sang was the Mexican wave and slice of heaven. I couldn't sing very well because my throat hurt. I enjoy doing choir because Miss Harris and Mr McCallum makes it fun. I can't wait until the music festival because I remember going a few years ago and it was really fun. After choir we did my discovery.I enjoy choir because we get to sing fun songs and have fun.I like our warm ups because we get to jump around.I don't really like singing but Miss Hariss makes it fun.I like performing choir in assembly.I am really excited for this Tuesday because we are performing at the year 7/8 open night.I am also performing Kapa Haka.

music

Today at music we had to go early because of student led conferences. We came half an hour before our lesson even started. When it was our turn we had to go and get our bags otherwise they would of got locked in the breakout hub. Then we started our lesson. Firstly we learnt hoe to play He Honoria. (If that is spelt wrong it was in my music book) Then we herd the bell ring for the end of the day. We stayed at guitar until 2:30. After guitar me and Jackie walked home together.

Tuesday 16 June 2015

music lessons

Today at guitar Hannah and I were being a bit silly. Ok, a lot silly. We were being silly by strumming our guitars really loudly and hardly while singing really loud and bad. The cords I learnt today were c g (again) and that is all. Firstly we played a song that we were really good at, secondly we practiced g cord, thirdly we learnt how to do c cord. Someone in my group (not going to name who) thought it was really easy. For me it was really hard. The hard part for me was just everything! Thank you for reading my blog post.

peer mediation

Today at peer mediation there were no problems at all. We didn't even see anyone being mean or any problems. We went everywhere around the school but no nothing. I don't care if it takes up my morning tea or lunch because it helps other people out.I saw lots of kids playing good games in appropriate places for that game.May I also mention that I did not see any rubbish on the ground or on the field.People were also eating there food on the courts or outside there classroom. It is good to see that the senior part of the school are being good role models to the younger students.

Friday 5 June 2015

CHOIR

Today at choir, we were practicing for the music festival. One of the songs were the Mexican wave. I like how choir is set out and the time of it because I have a lot that I have to do in the first block. Choir goes for  45 minutes. It starts at 8:45 and ends at 9:30. We have practiced a lot so I think we will be really good at the music festival. I am glad I joined choir because it is really fun.I did the music festival a few years ago, it was really fun because there was a big screen that video you then put you on the big screen.I also like choir because I get to play guitar. There are lots of people who are in choir, which is good.I am glad to see that lots of people are getting involved.

Tuesday 26 May 2015

MUSIC LESSONS

Music lessons ( guitar ) was really hard because we learnt three new cords. The cords we learnt were BM, C and D. Firstly we started off by playing a song ( the easiest song ). Next we stood up and practiced but without looking. Then Mr McCullum told us that we would be preforming in front of the girls class for music tomorrow. Hannah and I got really excited that all our hard work would pay off. We started practicing the song straight away. But sadly we had to go back to class because our session had finished.

                      PEER MEDIATION WEEK 8

On Monday, peer mediation was kind of hard. We had lots problems. One of the hardest things to do was get all the kids to listen. The good thing was we saw some other little kids trying to sort out a problem by themselves, which means we are being good role models. I like peer mediation because it means helping out other students with there problems. I think I am doing really well with peer mediation because when it is my time to do it I turn up.

PALS

PALS

Today at PALS, I was getting lots of little kids to come and play a game. Lots of kids were keen to come and play a game with
PALS. We decided to play tricky tag. When other kids came to play we must of had like 55 kids come! I really like doing PALS because I get to make little kids happy at school and not feel scared.

MY POEM

UNICORNS

The majestic unicorns hoofs are as blue as the sky
As the unicorns fly through the sky, their horns swirl in the sparkling summer sun
Each day the unicorns poop millions of rainbow skittles that fill the land
Clop, Clop, Clop as they walk along the candy coated path

I chose to use alliteration because I had lots of words that started with the same letter
I chose onomatopoeia so I can add some boom words to my poem
I chose to use a simile because I wanted to use like or as in my poem
I chose to use a hyperbole so I could have a gross sentence in my poem

Peer mediation week 6

Week six peer mediation:today it wasn't my turn for peer mediation. My friend who was doing it,asked me if I wanted to fill in for someone else.So I did.We were going well, but some kids came up to us.First we explained the rules, then they all agreed. The problem was they were throwing bean bags at each other. We then helped by asking for there names, going over the rules again and we were about to listen to everyone's side of the story but the bell rang.We decided to email the teacher, because that was all we had time for. There teacher will then sort it out.Overall peer mediation was really fun.

My PAL'S activitie

At PAL'S,we got lots of little kids to join in the fun.The games  played were:octopus, tricky tag, tag, and duck duck goose. We choose a variety of games because we want to see what what ones are the best.I think octopus worked very well because when some little kids saw us playing the game and came and joined in.We then took a vote of what game we should play next. Most of them chose tricky tag, so we played that for a while. When our time was up,all the kids wanted us to stay. But when we left, I saw a few kids trying to get others to play a game.It was a huge success! That just means we were being good role models.Whenever I am out on the field ,I see the same kids coming to every PAL'S activities. Which means they have something to do.

My wonder story

Time went by really quickly. It felt like you were watching a movie.Dad got home about three hours later.Via on the other hand, ran down the stairs like a headless chicken.I can finally open my big stripy presents.Ok ok.Said dad calming her down.August.Dad called.I walked down the stairs and into the big welcoming living room. Via had already opened all her presents.Time for my birthday cake.yelled Via as if she hand never had a cake to herself before.Mum cut the cake and put the slice on my plate.I picked it up and squeezed it.I liked the smell so I took a bite.Suddenly disaster struck.
